Twice a year the capital city of germany stages international fashion and lifestyle events. The “Berlin Fashion Week” is a meeting point for fashion interested people and professionals. Media representatives, buying agents and fashion designers get the opportunity to visit several trade fairs, exhibitions and offsite-events.
I was in the lucky position to experience the Fashion Week from another view point: totally backstage!
I travelled with the ecological fashion designer Julia Starp from Hamburg to Berlin to help her with her show and to cover some key moments of her event where we met many famous people – as VIP guests and models (e. g. german actor Hannes Jaenicke as well as Miriam Höller, Rebecca Mir and Barbara Meier who are known from the TV show “Germany’s next Top Model”).
Julia Starp presented the expressive style of painting of the well-known Berlin artist Kiddy Citny in many various complex ways in her summer collection 2013 „SHE“. Together, the two artists created new highlights in fashion design and painting. „SHE“ unites femininity, beauty and silhouette. In combination with color and shape the woman wearing the clothes appears sculptural, sexy and elegant, classy, sublime but also provocative. „SHE“ comprises dresses, skirts, blouses, hotpants, blazer, swim wear and rain coats as well as accessories. The contrasty mixture of colors and materials sets the mood for summer, sun, beach and sea. Light batiste, shining Modaljersey, strong cotton, gechinzter linen and Softshell are the basis for striking shades of blue, soft yellow, mint, orange red highlights as well as classic black, anthracite and white.
Three nights nearly without sleep, unexpected summer heat, a lot of fun with lovely people and a little car crash are the résumé of this experience.
Thanks to all people for the nice time we have shared. And dear visitor: please enjoy the photographs below. Thank you for visiting my blog.
